Fast-paced arcade puzzler ‘FLIP’ debuts on Steam for under £5

The solo independent developer CLKY Studios has launched its commercial debut title, FLIP, bringing an arcade spin to the classic card-matching memory genre on Windows PC via Steam.

Priced at £3.99 ($4.99 USD) with regional pricing options, the game tests quick thinking, spatial awareness, and pattern recognition under time pressure.

We’re also currently playing it for review, and in those first few moments, we’ve found that FLIP is a lot of addictive fun. We’ll see if it lasts, but the opening hours are really promising.

About the game

In FLIP, players must memorise card locations and uncover matching pairs before the clock runs out.

Unlike traditional memory games, every mistake costs valuable seconds, while maintaining streak multipliers rewards speed with bonus time. Across its 50 handcrafted levels, the game introduces evolving card mechanics and 10 unique boss encounters designed to alter the core rules and challenge mental mapping.

Our first few rounds went like a dream, and then there was Simon Says….. and honestly I nearly flipped my lid (pardon the pun). FLIP is fast, frantic and fun, but you have to be sharp.

Variety

For players seeking varied gameplay, FLIP includes multiple modes to suit different playstyles.

High-score enthusiasts can compete in Endless Mode to test their endurance against global Steam leaderboards, while those seeking a low-stress experience can opt for Cosy Mode.

Performance is evaluated using an S-Rank scoring system alongside a suite of Steam Achievements.

Accessibility

The game offers localized interface support across six languages (English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and Russian) and supports both full controller setups and standard keyboard and mouse controls.

Quick side note: it’s plays great on the Steam Deck at the moment, too. Big part of the review and the continued gameplay of FLIP.

Take a look!

You can preview the gameplay mechanics in action by checking out the FLIP Official Trailer. This video provides a direct showcase of the game’s fast-paced card matching, visual mechanics, and boss encounters.

We’ll be reviewing over a couple of weeks to really get into it. FLIP will get the full Indie-Cent Exposure treatment. And, full disclosure CLKY Studios sent us a review code.
